You will always find me in the Kitchen at parties...

... the Ikea advert didn't lie! For those who haven't seen this brilliant advert, then click on this link and it will all be explained: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Gm9rxNxyDU. For those of you who have seen this advert, then you will probably have the catchy tune on repeat in your head now! Sorry about that.

Anyway the relevence of this, is that I went to this rocking house party for Miss Red Stars 25th birthday a few Saturday's ago and it struck me that everyone seemed to naturally gravitate towards the kitchen. It was like a sirens call that everyone folllowed unconsiously - plus it seemed to be the place that the cool kids hung out and I wanted me a piece of THAT action. I even hung out and chatted to the bands 'Robot Safari' and 'Massive Horse', before they performed in the diningroom in the house! Oh yes, there was live music in the diningroom! When Miss Red Star told me about this, I had visions of an out of control Skins style house party, where things got trashed and everyone was off their faces on god knows what. Whilst I was excited, as I had never been to a skins-esque house party in my 23 years, I was also a  little intimidated. Luckily in reality it was actually a really awesome and surreal experience! Everyone just gathering in one place to appreciate good music and good company, without having to trash things nor be intoxicated... well no more than normal anyway. In fairness to these guys they absolutely rocked the house down - well not literally or that would be kinda bad for poor Miss Red Star and her housemates, but they are definately worth checking out on YouTube or live! (Massive Horse are playing in Full Moon in Cardiff on the 21st of April, so you should check them out! Boys you can pay me that fiver bribe for recommending you later!)

So after 4/5ths of a bottle of wine and much drunken chatter, we headed into Cardiff Town to my favourite stinky club - Metros. It's nickname is Sweatros, as it used to be a sweaty dive back in the day, but since the refurb it is a little cleaner and less smelly, but I still love it there nonetheless! I have sooo many good memories there, and Saturday didn't disappoint me either :). Even to this day, when certain songs come on my ipod, I can't help but smile and remember a drunken memory or dance move. Like Lady Gaga's 'Poker Face' just reminds me of myself and Miss Koko doing some weird hand covering face move during the chorus, when dancing with some guys we had met that night. It must have worked as one of them asked for my number! See being weird sometimes pays off! So anyway, whilst attempting to sober up during the walk into town, (which proved to have been a pointless exercise, as I arrived at the club just as drunk as when I left the house,) the banter continued. And it only went downhill from there. The next day when I was being reunited with the previous nights drinks, (the 4th time I have EVER been sick due to alcohol in my 7 years of drinking, which I think is a pretty good record!), parts of the night came back to me and made me giggle like a goon, but it also made me remember that I hadn't eaten before the drinking began! STUPID MISTAKE!!! So kids, heed my warning - always eat before going out drinking, unless you enjoy having the toilet as your new best friend! And anyway, I am still blaming Miss Red Star's friend, Marine, for buying me drinks when he could see I was clearly drunk o:) I named my hangover after him the next day! I felt it was only fair!

So as you can tell this was quite a random blog - but if the name fits... So here's to many more nights spent chatting to people in the kitchen during parties, (unless we are at Miss Koko's house as she evicts you from the kitchen - RUDE!), and just trying to hold down our alcohol. Yeah I know, who am I kidding right!

Peace Out
Random Quirky Girl x
